Tash Anderson wrote her first song at the age of six and since then has developed a passion for composing and performing. She has been playing the piano ever since she was young and is self- taught. Tash was a member of many bands from a young age before branching out on her own.
Tash was chosen as a finalist in the Hard Rock Cafe Future Rock competition in 2004 where she performed in Melbourne. She went onto perform each week at the Leader Business Awards later that year. In 2005, Tash entered the Starburst Soundcheck competition and finished in the top 20, out of over 400 entrants. Since then, she's completed two music courses: a Foundation Year of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2005, and a Diploma of Music Performance at Box Hill Tafe, in 2006. This year she has recorded her first EP, which is a selection of four of her best songs, plus six live originals.
The title track from her EP, 'The Ties That Bind', has recently been added to UK Undiscovered's playlist, which is a digital radio station in the UK. Also, her songs have charted on both Triple J Unearthed and Riffstar.com. She's currently plays live at bars around Melbourne such as St. Kilda's Argy Bargy and is about to begin recording her independent debut album.
